Struggler and martyr of the men of the Algerian Revolution

ولد العربي
بن مهيدي في عام 1923 بدوار الكواهي بناحية عين مليلة التي كانت تابعة
إقليميا
لمحافظة قسنطينة وهو الإبن الثاني في ترتيب الأسرة التي تتكون من ثلاث
بنات وولدين، دخل المدرسة الابتدائية الفرنسية بمسقط رأسه وبعد سنة دراسية
واحدة إنتقل إلى باتنة لمواصلة التعليم الابتدائي ولما
تحصل على الشهادة الإبتدائية عاد لأسرته التي إنتقلت هي الأخرى إلى
مدينة بسكرة وفيها تابع محمد العربي دراسته وقبل في قسم الإعداد للإلتحاق
بمدرسة قسنطينة.
في عام 1939 إنضم لصفوف الكشافة الإسلامية ببسكرة.
في
عام 1942 إنضم لصفوف حزب الشعب بمكان إقامته، حيث كان كثير الإهتمام
بالشؤون السياسية
والوطنية، في 08 ماي 1945 و كان من بين المعتقلين ثم أفرج عنه بعد
ثلاثة أسابيع قضاها في الإستنطاق والتعذيب بمركز الشرطة. عام 1947 كان من
بين الشباب الأوائل الذين إلتحقوا بصفوف المنظمة الخاصة حيث ما
لبث أن أصبح من أبرز عناصر هذا التنظيم وفي عام 1949 أصبح مسؤول الجناح
العسكري . عيّن في سنة 1953- 1954 مسؤول الدائرة الحزبية بوهران . وعند
تكوين اللجنة الثورية للوحدة والعمل في مارس 1954 أصبح من
بين عناصرها البارزين. عمل بالمنطقة الثانية (2) غزوات ناحية تلمسان الولاية الخامسة (5) بمساعدة بوصوف عبد الحفيظ و فرطاس محمد و بالتناسق مع الأخ بن علة
محمد المدعو سي منصور عضو إدارة الولاية الخامسة مع أعضاء قسمة مدينة الغزوات المتكونة من براق محمد مسؤول القسمة ،بعوش محمد
المدعو سي الطاهر مسؤول تنظيم
القطاع المركزي، مستغانمي أحمد المدعو سي رشيد مسؤول تنظيم القطاع الريفي،
حمدون محمد مسؤول المنظمة السرية الجناح العسكري، سونه مصطفى
مسؤول تنظيم الطبقات الشعبية، طالب عبد الوهاب مسؤول الاتصال،
شبان أعمر مسؤول المالية، بوحجر
المدعو سي عثمان منسق مع مسؤولين الولاية الخامسة. و مسؤولين آخرين
بالقطاع الريفي أمثال، بكاي عبد الله المدعو سي بن أحمد، سايح مسوم المدعو
حنصالي، سايح سي صالح المدعو بوشاقور .
عين
بعدها عضوا بلجنة التنسيق و التنفيذ للثورة الجزائرية (القيادة العليا
للثورة) ، قاد
معركة الجزائر بداية سنة 1956 و نهاية 1957. اعتقل نهاية شهر فيفري
1957 و استشهد تحت التعذيب ليلة الثالث إلى الرابع من مارس 1957.
اعتقل في 23 شباط فبراير 1975 ومات دون ان يعطي اي معلومة عن جبهة التحرير الوطني
